Stephen DOWLER is the Head of APAC at electronic music's leading independent record label, Monstercat. Based in the Singapore office, DOWLER works across the Commercial, Marketing, and Music divisions to align on a cohesive strategy for the label's business ventures in Asia Pacific. Having lived in Asia for over 13 years, DOWLER has become a key player in developing the electronic music market, especially in China where he has actively advanced the legitimization of music copyrights and contributed to launching debut festivals and conferences in the region.
His passion for bridging cultures through music made him essential to opening Monstercat's Singapore office in 2021. DOWLER has since discovered and assisted with signing countless electronic artists throughout APAC. With the support of the label, he has brought career-defining opportunities to the international roster within verticals such as live, gaming, Web3, and more.
Prior to Monstercat, DOWLER was a Global Business Consultant at Kanjian following roles at DianYinTai and A2L!VE. Since 2012, he has licensed 2.5 million songs to the Chinese market and was pivotal in organizing Shanghai's first electronic music festival, E-Midi. DOWLER was also a founding member of STORM, China's largest electronic music festival.
