Key visuals for the 33rd Golden Melody Awards Ceremony launched on May 12th, 2022! The Golden Melody Awards Ceremony returns to the Kaohsiung Arena after 16 years, and the Golden Melody Festival will take place, for the first time, at the Kaohsiung Music Center. The GMA visuals team has established the driving concept for the 33rd Golden Melody Awards Ceremony as “heat” to symbolize the energy inherent to the Golden Melody Awards, which entails the popularity of music, a generational passion for music, the impact of music creators, and the warm climate of Kaohsiung. Isaac Chen, the chief consultant to the awards ceremony, shared that the concept of “heat” can intuitively portray GMA’s prestige and the unique culture of Kaohsiung.

Yang Shi-Ching, a Taiwanese visual designer brought on again to design the 33rd GMA’s key visuals and identity, strives for a deeper ideological connection by extracting parts of the GMA award and presenting the imagery of heat through 3D technology. Yang also uncovered a surprising connection between the number 33 and carvings on the award, opting to design a “hot” teaser poster. Yang breaks free from the monochromatic elements seen in the past GMA visuals by developing vibrant, colorful visuals through temperature changes that also symbolize the passion of musicians and the sparks they inspire with this world, leading attendees to a new beginning. Isaac Chen praised the key visuals, “heat is a sensory experience. It's difficult to convey visually but Yang has done a great job and makes it intriguing.”
