......... 2022/5/11 . .
According to a Ministry of Culture statement on May 11th, the 33rd Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will be hosted on Saturday July 2nd, 2022 at the Kaohsiung Arena. Incorporating local cultural elements, the ceremony will honor the nominees'contributions with various and elaborate performances.

The 12th, 13th and 16th Golden Melody Awards Ceremony were held in Kaohsiung and it has been 16 years since the GMA was in Kaohsiung. The Ministry of Culture considered several conditions, such as schedule, venue usage, number of occupants and local people's expectations for the Golden Melody Awards, and chose to hold them at the Kaohsiung Arena. In addition to revitalizing the GMA, it is expected to promote the exchange of arts, pop music, film and television in southern Taiwan, perking up local industries with culture.
Additionally, since 2014, the Ministry of Culture has partnered the Golden Melody Festival with the Golden Melody Awards as a promoter of Mandarin music. It is hoped that the Festival can be a platform for the musicians to connect with businesses in the pop music industry. In recent years, Kaohsiung has continued to improve its cultural environment for related industries, such as film and television, animation and games. The Kaohsiung Music Center began operating officially at the end of last year, and has become an important engine for the development of the popular music industry in southern Taiwan. The 2022 Golden Melody Festival activities will also be coordinated by the Golden Melody Awards Ceremony to be held for the first time at the Kaohsiung Music Center from June 24th to 26th. There will be international conferences, master workshops, showcases, and business matching events during the Festival. It is hoped that the event will bring people together in Kaohsiung who work in the pop music industry at home and abroad. The events will surely inject energy and enthusiasm into Taiwan's music industry.

The Ministry of Culture stated that the COVID-19 prevention measures for the Ceremony and related activities will be strictly adhered to and adjusted according to the pandemic situation and the guidelines of the Central Epidemic Command Center.
