The 31st Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will take place on October 3rd at the Main Hall of the Taipei Music Center. Former Best Male Vocalist (Mandarin), JJ Lin, will be performing this year with Yu-Siang Huang, a GMA-awarded pianist, and crossover violinist Daphne Su. Together, the trio takes the audience on a pondering journey on the relationship of life, time, and space with their music.
JJ Lin's previous album was nominated for many categories at the 2018 GMA. This year, however, he will be attending the ceremony as a performer. JJ said the ceremony is a much-anticipated event to him, and that he hopes to take this opportunity to show the audience how far he has come in the past three years. Partnering with pianist Huang Yu-Siang and crossover violinist Daphne Su this time, JJ Lin spent a lot of time and effort on producing an intricate arrangement where each instrument is able to showcase its distinctiveness. The purpose of such collaboration is to pull people closer together, and express warmth and encouragement through music.
Busy preparing his up-coming album, JJ surprised his fans with a lead single that soon shot up the charts upon its release. "I will spare no effort in introducing my up-coming album in the coming weeks. The concept of the album is nothing like my previous works, so please stay tuned," JJ Lin states.
Yu-Siang Huang, who had won Best Instrumental Composer at GMA, said he is grateful and happy to have been invited by GMA to perform at the awarding ceremony, and that it is a great honor to be able to work with JJ Lin.
Daphne Su delightedly said: "I'm grateful to have the opportunity to be back on stage and perform, especially during the pandemic.
The medley has lyrical phrases as fluid and soft as water, and uplifting ones as magnificent as mountains. For me, it's such an exciting and rare opportunity to interpret pieces with rock elements. To give a matching visual representation, my stage costume is designed to best convey the atmosphere and vibe of the medley."

The 31st Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will take place on October 3rd (Sat.) 7:00 P.M. at the Main Hall of the Taipei Music Center. The red carpet of the highly-anticipated annual pop music award will be broadcasted live on TTV starting from 5:00 P.M, and the awarding ceremony 7:00 P.M. Live streams and reruns of the event are available on TTV Main Channel, TTV Variety, Unique TV News Channel, Unique Business News Channel.
