The 2018 Golden Melody Awards and Festival series event, the showcase, hosted by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, Ministry of Culture will be held this year from 20 June to 22 June at the Taipei Neo Studio, aimed to promote the glocalization of Taiwan pop music for industry observers and foreign interests, this year the Showcase has invited eight sets of Taiwanese talents Sangpuy, Didilong, Kowen Ko, No Party for Cao Dong, Diana Wang, J.Sheon, Joanna Wang, and Eric Chou. The festival also organized an “International Night”, and for the first time, through strategic alliance with music festivals from Japan, Thailand, and Sweden, invited the popular Thai rock band Lomosonic, the Japanese golden band Bentham and the Swedish punk pop band The Magnettes to perform in Taiwan. The evening promise to be an enjoyable one for the audience filled with rich and diverse musical contents.

This year marked the second collaboration between the GMA and the Big Mountain Music Festival in Thailand, and yielded the invitation of the popular rock band Lomosonic to perform in Taiwan. Beginning as an indie band, Lomosonic has been around for more than ten years and is among the top 10 rock bands in Thailand, with countless songs under their belts.
