Waa Wei's hosting of the 31st Golden Melody Awards Ceremony was outstanding while Mary and Evan Yo's first-time collaboration as red carpet hosts were also well-received. Mary shared that, "I'm so happy that I was able to host the Red Carpet and I'd like to thank TTV for believing in me. The theme of the 31st GMA is Life and when all these artists of different ages, gender, and genres were discussing their works, they had this spark and energy in their eyes. It was a very moving night for me having been able to experience the vitality of such brilliant musicians in such close proximity." Evan Yo also shared that, "I was definitely nervous but I kept on telling myself to stay calm and stay focused. Thankfully musicians are a talkative bunch and Mary was able to swoop in whenever I needed her so I was able to ease into the role. It was such a dream to be able to talk to these amazing musicians that I admire so much. These two hours are the most I've said, the fastest I've talked, and the straightest I've stood in my life. I'm shook from my first experience as the red carpet host but it was such a wonderful experience and I'm so grateful and happy despite having some slip-ups."
