The 30th Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will be grandly held on June 29th, 2019. For this year’s Best Taiwanese Male Vocalist, Best Taiwanese Female Vocalist, and Best Album in Taiwanese categories, the awards organizer invited Lotus Wang and Crowd Lu as co-presenters. The two once portrayed a mother-son duo in popular Taiwanese drama A Boy Named Flora A, and have consequently developed a strong connection. Reuniting the duo on the stage as presenter promises to spark some interesting interactions.
Last year, Crowd Lu grabbed both Song of the Year and Best Composer categories with He-R. On being invited back this year as a presenter, Lu humbly stated that he’s overjoyed to be in the same place with so many music lovers, hoping to share some of everyone’s good fortune and successfully finish writing his songs. Lotus Wang took her duty very seriously, on top of discussing wardrobe styles with her stylist, she has also begun her exercise and diet program hoping to lose at least two more kilograms, and presenting her best self at the ceremony. As for the nominees, the always smiling Crowd Lu recommended that they should keep calm and remember to smile. “A good smile can do wonders for your inter-personal relations” Lu smiled and stated. Wang on the other hand commented that Crowd Lu is a very funny person, and would often have an unexpected punchline, that she would find time to coordinate with him on this respect.
Once nominated for the Best Album in Taiwanese category at the 22nd GMA, Lotus Wang stated that she was overjoyed and honored to receive the invitation to present the category this year, that she was too excited to fall asleep that night, having a hard time believing it to be true. After the announcement o nominees, Wang realized that all nominees were connected with her one way or another; Kang Kang has been her friends for years, Hsu Fu Kai once portrayed her son in another drama series, and also recently co-hosted a show with her, and she was once invited to perform at a pub together with Dog G. Having some history with all the nominees, and after finished listening to all the nominated contenders for Taiwanese categories, Wang confessed to a certain apprehension in announcing the name of the winner on the day of the ceremony. ”But that’s really the jury’s business, we’ll just be focusing on presenting the awards in the best way possible, and hope everyone can enjoy the show” Wang smiled and stated.
This year’s 30th Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will be held on June 29th, 2019 at the Taipei Arena. Organizer TTV will begin live broadcast of the Red Carpet at 5 pm and the ceremony at 7 pm on the TTV main channel. The 2019 Golden Melody Awards Festival will encompass a series of events including the Conference, Master Classes, Networking Session, Exhibition, Showcase Concert, and GMA Heat from June 26th, 2019 to June 29th, 2019. The series will invite noted international lecturers to share their experience and conduct exchanges in Taiwan, expand strategic cooperation with international music festivals, and provide diverse music and performance styles from various country and regions.
