On September 15th, the 31st Golden Melody Awards released a new series of short promotional videos: GMA Family, on its Facebook Fan Page. In GMA Family, GMA is a big family where interesting things happen every day. Waa Wei, who will be taking on the pivotal role of hosting the 31st GMA ceremony, played a new tenant in the promo while Jam Hsiao and Lulu played her seniors. With Hsiao and Lulu being the respective hosts for the 29th and 30th GMA Ceremony, Waa Wei could definitely learn from them.
Waa Wei admitted to asking Lulu for advice when she learned that she will be hosting the ceremony. Lulu was generous and provided Wei with her own GMA notes. Lulu said that when she was preparing for the ceremony last year, Jam Hsiao, the host for the 29th GMA ceremony, was the model that she learned from. Jam Hsiao was incredibly supportive and said that he believes Wei will do a great job. Hsiao also encouraged new singers, saying "You'll be part of the GMA Family if you're talented and confident, and are able to surprise the audience," but also jokingly added "learning from your seniors is good."
In addition to the 3 hosts, GMA Family also invited a lot of singers, including Best Male Vocalist (Mandarin) nominee – J. Sheon, 30th GMA winner for Best Mandarin Album – Shi Shi, and Best Composer and Best Album Producer Nominee – Sandee Chan. In the beginning, J. Sheon and Shi Shi had a lot of bloopers but Sandee Chan stepped in and they were able to complete the shoot successfully. The crew commented in jest, saying "no pressure, no diamond."
During the shooting, lens positions are frequently changed to show different angles and actors often have to play the same part several times. After her One-day Actress experience, Sandee Chan felt that it was indeed difficult. "I feel like temperamental and hotheaded singers should be sent to a set for a 3-day training, so they can know how wonderful their life is," she said.
Popular band EggPlantEgg, soul singer 9m88, 30th GMA winner for Best Single Producer – YELLOW, and Best Female Vocalist (Mandarin) nominee – Joanna Wang also participated in GMA Family where they were having a lot of fun. The GMA Family promo videos present GMA in the form of comedy. There are 5 episodes in total and will be released on the Facebook Fan Page. Please stay tuned.

The 31st Golden Melody Awards Ceremony will take place on October 3rd (Sat.) 7:00 P.M. at the Main Hall of the Taipei Music Center. The red carpet of the highly-anticipated annual pop music award will be broadcasted live on TTV starting from 5:00 P.M.. Let's look forward to this annual event in the music industry.
