2019 Golden Melody Awards and Festival is holding Masterclass for the first time, which will take place at Le Méridien Taipei from June 26 to 28. According to the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development, MOC, the Masterclass will be conducted by three renowned experts: recording engineer Eric Schilling, who has won multiple Grammy awards, Latin Grammy awards, and Emmy awards; Jeff Bova, Grammy winning producer and co-writer of Jolin Tsai’s Single “Lady in Red”; and Shinkichi Mitsumune, who has composed music for famous anime, such as “Yu-Gi-Oh!”. These masters are going to share their practical experience and discuss the industry in depth at professional and technical level with no more than 20 participants in each session.
Grammy Awards show broadcast music mixer Eric Schilling has numerous awards under his belt. Large music events he has worked with include the Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, Latin Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. He was invited to serve as audio consultant in the 29th Golden Melody Awards ceremony, and this year, he will be one of the lecturers of the Masterclass during the Festival. His class will cover cases of live broadcast mixing, post production of live shows and broadcast, and music mixing for live album.
Jeff Bova won his “Album of the Year” Grammy as a producer for Celine Dion’s Falling Into You in 1966. Throughout his career in the music industry he has worked with countless mainstream artists like Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, and Celine Dion. He was also the co-writer of Jolin Tsai’s Single “Lady In Red” in her album Ugly Beauty. He is going to talk about his experience of collaborating with famous artists in the masterclass.
Japanese composer Shinkichi Mitsumune started to compose music for a number of popular anime since 1995. His works include “Revolutionary Girl Utena”, “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters”, the series “Rozen Maiden”, “Negima! : Magister Negi Magi”, the Series “Zero no Tsukaima”, and “Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS”. His background in classical music adds diversity and richness to his music. He will share knowledge and professional techniques in the field of score composing.
