Indie band HYUKOH from South Korea is invited this year to perform at this annual vent. Band members feel excited and honored for the invitation, and look forward to meeting with fans, but decline to comment if they will sing Mandarin songs on stage, after including one “Wanli” in their studio album last year. With art background, vocalist Oh Hyuk has been offering unique insights in visual presentation. Many of his works and fashion styles are trending among young people. The performance at GMA will collaborate with Taiwanese new media artist Chung-Han Yao to produce an engaging experience between tech art and music under the theme “Future-ing”.
Light and sound artist Yao has received 2017 Taipei Art Awards and exhibited in Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale. His light installations often deliver pioneering experiences and extend sounds into visual. This collaboration at 2018 GMA will showcase how tech art and music interact. After holding a concert in Taiwan for the first time last year, HYUKOH is excited to return for GMA, as well as their favorite Taiwan food, hot pot.
