Derek Nakamoto 是一位備受讚賞的國際級製作人、創作人、編曲人及鋼琴師。 以「美好世界的聆聽感受」做為其音樂事業的座右銘。
Derek 曾與安哥拉、南非、台灣、日本及美國等地之歌手合作，不論是專輯錄製或是現場演出的配合，都 能超越文化及國界的制限，激發出彼此獨特的藝術火花。
1981 年自出生地夏威夷移居美國加州洛城，其後 Derek 為 Arista 唱片旗下的爵士樂團 Hiroshima 錄製 作品並隨樂團一同進行演出，很快地融入美國唱片工業之中。Derek 也和 Hiroshima 的創團成員 June Kuramoto 共同譜寫了樂團經典作品〈Thousand Cranes〉。在這段期間，Derek 也以錄音鍵盤樂手身份參與 合 作 並 受 到 多 位 引 領 美 國 唱 片 工 業 的 名 製 作 人， 如 Richard Perry、Giorgio Moroder、Bob Clearmountain 以及 Hugh Padgum 等的薰陶。上述諸多不可或缺的工作經驗，讓 Derek 在日後參與許多製作及編曲工作， 包括 Michael Jackson、Michael Bolton、The O'Jays、Teddy Pendergras、Herb Alpert 和 Gerald Albright 等人。Derek 則在近期為 Waldemar Bastos、Yoko Fujimoto 及 Keiko Matsui 等人操刀打入排行榜的專輯及 歌曲，同時也跨足為電影創作音樂及指導多位即將登場的獨立製作歌手。

I was both surprised and honored to be nominated for such a prestigious among so many amazing recordings! It was a pure pleasure to work with a dedicated artist in Jeff Kung. He is committed to a high level of artistic presentation and is such a hard worker with a positive attitude! Artist like Jeff will raise the bar of excellence in the music scene both in Taiwan and around the world! I am very proud of and for him and am grateful for this honor of our collaboration!
